Meet Penn
In 2004 Penn had an idea to build a new movie theater in his hometown of Lititz, PA. In 2006, he and Aimee opened Penn Cinema with their partners. Always one to think big, Penn opened a ten-screen theater which quickly grew to 15 screens including an IMAX theater. It ultimately grew to three locations and became one of the highest grossing independently owned theaters in Pennsylvania.
Penn began his career in county government as an entry level counselor in the county prison. He worked in the drug and alcohol space as well as leadership in the mental health and developmental disabilities fields. Eventually he moved into executive level leadership roles within the county government where he continued to learn about navigating amongst challenging personalities and obstacles.
Moving from the public sector to the private sector, Penn has thrived in his business community. In 2018 he was recognized by the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce as the Small Businessman of the Year. He serves as Vice President of Pennsylvania Cinema United (the regional trade association for theater owners) and on the national level he serves on the Cinema United Strategic Planning Committee to help chart the course for the national trade association's forthcoming strategic plan. He has earned many other professional awards and accolades, and served in countless leadership roles.
With a clinical background in adolescent counseling and 20 years of successfully working with young people including Gen-Z and now Gen-A, Penn's message can be carefully tuned to audiences of any age. Penn's ability to connect with the younger work force of today is a critical asset as employers try to reach their teams to convey important lessons and ideas.
Penn's passion for leadership and customer service is rooted in understanding the big picture and finding the shared connections that are the foundations for every path forward. The hallmark of his presentations is the seemingly endless supply of riveting and amusing stories that also includes his incredible journey as an amateur endurance athlete.
Through storytelling, Penn draws from his own triumphs, failures and everyday life to make audiences comfortable and relaxed, open to hearing valuable insights and lessons that they can use to improve their lives and their work.
Meet Aimee
Aimee is a doctor of occupational therapy and has been practicing in pediatrics for just over 30 years. She has worked in early intervention, school-based therapy and had her own private pediatric practice for several years. She currently practices in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and absolutely loves it! Aimee taught at the doctorate level in an occupational therapy program for several years (and really got to know the Gen Z generation) and Aimee is the owner and operator of Aimee’s Babies, a child development company. Through Aimee’s Babies, Aimee travels all over the world to educate parents and early childhood practitioners. Aimee just completed her certificate in Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Aimee has authored two books and has written countless articles and Op Eds that have been featured in the New York Daily news, Chicago Tribune, Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel and many other news outlets. Her first book, entitled See Occupational Therapist Run is a workbook to help fellow occupational therapists avoid burnout and her second book, The Early Childhood Promise is a book to support parents, professionals and policymakers in early childhood. Aimee has presented about her books on national and international stages.
Aimee’s child development programs and apps have been featured on the Rachel Ray Show and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Aimee has won prize challenges and innovation challenges that have helped to support Aimee’s Babies and keep the content free for families. Aimee is the child development specialist for several brands including Baby Einstein, Bright Starts, Parent.co, Ingenuity, and Bestreviews.com.
Aimee loves working with young parents and supporting early child development as much as she loves helping her husband with special events and the creative aspects of running three fast-paced movie theaters. As they built the first theater as a young family with two-year-old and five-year-old daughers, it has always been a family affair!
In addition to anything related to babies and young children, Aimee loves spending time with her daughters and extended family, travel, teaching yoga, hiking, decorating cookies and packing cute picnics.
Together
Penn and Aimee bring years of experience and expertise that resonate across every industry. With Aimee’s background in healthcare, parent coaching, and higher education, and Penn’s experience in counseling, management, and leadership, this dynamic duo lights up the stage with humor, authenticity, and evidence-based strategies that empower and inspire.
Penn’s determination and vision led him to build a successful multiplex movie theater literally in a cornfield when no one believed it could be done. His relentless “never-quit” mindset also carried him through 15 Ironman competitions, a drive he channels daily into business and leadership.
Aimee’s compassion and expertise have supported parents and educators around the world. Her presentations on self-care and burnout prevention have motivated teachers, childcare providers, and therapists to care for themselves as deeply as they care for others.
Together, Penn and Aimee share practical lessons and heartfelt stories that inspire audiences to lead with purpose, build resilience, and find joy in the work they do.
